it would be really helpful for live performance if the PSB could be set into a mode in which the changes made to patterns would not be thrown away when switching to another pattern or another sequencer. Right now I have to individually save the pattern each time before switching - this is really inconvenient when playing live
the changes don't even necessarily have to be saved permanently between turning BSP off and on

Hit save before changing patterns maybe?
-
megamarkd, this feature request is specifically about not having to "hit save" ;)
also, the procedure is a bit more complicated than just "hitting save"

would love this too - especially in a "live" situation. Don't really understand why on any sequencer you should "commit" (save) your pattern changes! Roland gear (TR drum machines, TB-303) just "write" the pattern as you go/change!
-
I would -1 this request. I like being able to mess around with a sequence then quickly flip in and out of it to get back to its saved state.
-
... well - then I counter with +2! ;-)
-
it would've been more intuitive with this function so +1

Even if saving is easy, I cannot remember the number of times I lost changes because I moved pattern and simply forgot to save the one I was working with. I don't know though what would be the best option to improve this.

+ 1!

+ 10 ;D
that Function is already on the keyStep Pro and its absolutely awesome because you can record a huge complex set within a minute or less just because of this Auto-Save-Function!! Just hit the ">" and the end of each pattern while recording :D

This would be especially useful for pattern chains. Live recording a scene with more than 64 steps is impossible without this feature.

Please. 🙏

I assume that no firmware development is going on for Beatstep Pro at all... sadly...
If anyone can tell us the opposite, we'd all be very happy to know.

Sadly, indeed, I suspect you are correct. :(
If today's YouTube event doesn't announce a new/alternative to the BSP, though, it would certainly be nice to hear of at least some further development/fixes...
-
Oh interesting! Can you report back on the Youtube event?

F.
It was the big Apple-style announcement event for the miniFreak, miniLab 3, miniFuse 4, and Augmented Grand Piano.
So no new BSP or successor/alternative... Still unlikely (especially now having even more products to support), but at least BSP has not yet been surpassed and might get a bit more development love... Maybe... Hopefully...

What about letting the BSP code go open and then someone could actually work on it, to improve it?
