Title: Faulty knob makes BSP act erratically (video included)
Post by: tomatoKetchup on May 25, 2018, 06:58:04 pm
Hello,

I just acquired a BSP and I found out that the Knob 16 has an issue when you turn it while applying the slightest pressure towards the right, which makes me believe it's most certainly a hardware issue rather than software. Anyway to be sure, twice I updated to the latest firmware (2.0.1.0) and twice I did a factory reset, but it still occurs.

The following video shows exactly what's going on:

As you can see, it very rapidly sends random notes, while also randomly changing sequencer patterns and output midi channels too.

I'm about to contact Arturia's support but I first wanted to talk about it here in case this is a known issue and there's a workaround.

Thanks for reading.

Hi. Yes, it's done already, they've sent me a new pot. Forgot to close the thread, sorry.
Cheers.

Glad you found a fix.

Am just curious, how much effort does it take to replace the pot?  Do they plug into a socket or requires soldering?

Yes, replacing the knob requires soldering.
