i've installed the latest version of spark and the whole process went fine, but in the end,
when I open live or sonar, spark plugin is not visible in their vst folder.
I've installed the 64bit version vst only, into the folder where all the other plugins are.
the dll file is there but DAWs don't find it. after the spark2 installation, when I first started live and sonar,
during the scanning process the DAWs did notice spark vst is there. however, they don't see it afterwards.
I tried uninstalling spark and installing it again, but nothing has changed.
in standalone mode it works fine.
i'm using win7 64.
does anyone have any idea on what I should do?

Have you tried Dragging an dropping the spark program file into your cakewalk program file. When you've done this run a vst scan sonar should pick it up an rec ognize the spark program. If that dosnt work I can't think off any other solution. Good luck
-
That is strange that it doesnt work in either daw though
Would think the .dll is corrupt but i dont know if thats possible i assume it runs a checksum to check the
integrity when its unpacked
I dont know sonar but you could try something with ableton live
Install it into a folder on its own then choose that folder and rescan in prefrences and see what happens
Good luck

thx for your suggestion but it did not work. when I drag and drop spark's icon into sonar's it attempts to open but then a notification window pops up
saying file is either damaged or incompatible with this version of sonar. I don't see how could it be incompatible since all the other 64bit vsts work fine with it. as for the possibilty for the vst to be damaged, I can't see how that can be possible either. I've used the spark2 installation file downloaded from the arturia website - the one named "latest". and I installed it twice.

I tried selecting the spark2 plugin folder in Live, and did the rescan but DAW finds nothing. the list is empty.
thanks for your help though. :)
I really don't know what to do. I was thinking of reinstalling Live/sonar and then installing spark again but I don't think the problem is with DAWs.
all the suggestions are more than welcome.

yes, that's the file I used as well.
strange... and annoying. I don't see anyone else here complaining about such a problem.
also, I must say previous spark worked fine for me.
I did ask for a technical support so hopefully folks from arturia will help.

You can check this as well heres the 64 bit 2.4 vst details
Spark.dll
Size 71.6 MB (75,150,336 bytes)
MD5 18f403c912be2a6e65fa0eaf395f6825
Also you could try the preferences folder
ROOT:\ProgramData\Arturia\Spark
I think it stays even when you uninstall so you can try removing it and reinstalling spark

again, nothing. I've checked the vst - that's the one.
I tried uninstalling, removing the pref. files in programdata folder, installing again, and still no luck. :-\

I think you have to drag'n'drop the dlll not the exe. Did you try it?

yes I did try that. the same thing happens - a note saying "file is either damaged or incompatible with this version of sonar."

Could you please try to reinstall spark and use default folder location.
Then in Sonar go to cakewalk plugin manager (utility menu)
In plugin manager clic option then add and those path :
c:\program files\vstplugins
c:\program files (x86)\vstplugins

thank you for trying to help.
unfortunately, this didn't work either. neither sonar nor ableton still don't see spark2 vst.
sonar managed to once again find the 32 bit version of spark2, but the 64bit version is not in the list.

I've been trying to deal with this together with Arturia's technical support, but no solution was found.
Basically, all the suggestions I got were the ones I got here already.
I really don't know what to do... :(
Is there anyone else here with a problem of Live 9 not seeing spark2 in the plugin list?
