Updated Keylab 61 to 1.29, but the preset selector still only scrolls down the list whichever way you turn the knob. Is this ever going to be fixed? It is completely unusable live.
Don't even get me started on the MIDI program change.

First, please make sure you installed the Analog Lab latest updated (1.0.5).
Second,
open KeyLab Midi Control Center and check that the Preset encoder is configured in "Relative Control" mode.
(seems to be in "Control" mode)
See attached screenshot.

Yes, I'm on 1.05
and it doesn't work regardless of the setting or relative or absolute.

Hi,
No problem for me with AL 1.0.5 and firmware 1.29 on keylab 61.
What's your OS ?

nice, does it fix the encoders?

hi
About the scroll issue I dont know we are checking it but this is not reproduced on any of our mqchines yet.
I m sorry. there might be something special about your setup : DAW + keylab settings that make this happen.

I posted a youtube showing the problem. It looks like it is an Analog Lab issue. The encoder seems to be sending the correct value. Notice the values both ascend and descend by 1, but the preset list always goes in 1 direction.
Relative mode doesn't work at all. I can do another video showing you the values being sent correctly for that if you want.

EDIT: hmmm ... that didn't come out clear. Not sure why. The value column for 114 in the MIDI monitor on the right goes up as I turn 1 direction, and down when I turn in the other, however Analog lab just continues on in the same direction. This happens on multiple controls.

Hello
Thank you a lot for all these details.
Our office is closed until next tuesday, but I will forward the info so Ben and the development team can look at it with these additional infos.

Hi,
Try to change mode of the preset encoder directly on your keylab.
1/move preset knob
2/tap edit
3/with preset knob select relative control then push preset knob to validate
4/tap CC number
5/with preset knob select 114 then push preset knob to validate
6/tap edit again
-
That's how I do it ... I'm not sure what that is supposed to accomplish as the knob doesn't work controlling presets in either mode. And, in both modes it looks like Analog Lab is getting correct values.

So, it's been a week. Can I get a comment on the problem please? Analog Lab is getting what look to me like correct messages, but it doesn't respond properly. Is that the case?
-
Hello jmcecil,
To diagnose the problem properly, we need to know what messages are actually sent by your keyboard unit, but I am afraid we can't read it from your video.
Please sent us some messages when turning the Preset knob clock-wise and some messages when turning counter clock-wise
Thanks forward

How do you want me to capture? In absolute mode 114 increments and decrements by 1 in the MIDI monitor plugin placed directly before the plugin. So, for example if the current value is 74 and I turn I rotate the knob left, it goes 73, 72, 71, 70 ... if I rotate to the right it goes 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 80 ... however, the Analog Lab just continues on in the current direction until it reaches the end of the list, then it will flip and go in the opposite direction .. again ignoring if the message is increasing or decreasing.

I may be wrong but if you have the keylab map preset selected in the drop down box at the top analog lab it is set to receive the controller messages in relative by default you can unassign the controllers reassign and uncheck is relative checkbox so all the other controls are absolute but there is no setting to make the preset scroll absolute I have found
This is why the absolute preset map used in MCC set encoder 9 to relative
If you select the default controller in the drop down box of analog lab I believe the preset scroll is in absolute

I don't see a box for relative mode in Analog Lab controller drop down.

This is only semi-related to the issue. It doesn't matter what I set encoder 9 or any other encoder to in the MCC. It will not work correctly in Analog Lab.
If you select the default controller in the drop down box of analog lab I believe the preset scroll is in absolute
If I choose the default map in Analog Lab, it now jumps by 5 presets per tick of the encoder.... but it continues in the same direction regardless of which direction I swirl the knob.
I'll do another video that is hopefully clearer.

One more video. I can't figure out why they won't go high def, but I made it big enough and did some annotations so you could see what was happening.

This is in absolute mode. It works/doesn't work the same way in relative mode as well.

How do you plug your keylab ?
Via your MIDISPORT 4x4 ? or directly in USB ?

USB, also for whatever reason it didn't occur to me to try via MIDI. I'll give that a shot this evening.
