I got my origin (os update 1.4) yesterday and iīm just stepping through the presets and editing some of them.
Nice sound, but I find out, that ALL (!!!) patches with a DELAY that use SYNC ON and PINGPONG ON at the same time are "crackling". Itīs like "grain" or some noise.
If i turn off PINGPONG and use only SYNC ON there is no more crackling. It is only "crackling" when SYNC is ON and PINGPONG is ON.
In all patches i canīt control the DRY/WET balance of the DEALAY. The color of the knob is black and "locked".
Anyone ?!?
Bug ?!?

Hmmm... just tried the setings you gave on one of my own presets and I'm not hearing any crackling and the dry/wet control is available. Odd. Name a preset that has the problem and I'll try it on my machine.

Heya ASch,
some examples:
0005 seqpadbell - delay SYNC ON and PINGPONG ON - sound is crackling and delay control DRY/WET is blocked. Turn off one of these and the sound does not crackle anymore.
0009 same here
0011 Mg strings - same here
0012 same here
and so on ...
... for a special test:
0002 cs xperience - try to turn on SYNC ON and PINGPONG ON together and the nice sound starts to crackle !
thanks and greetings

Nope, just looked at all of those presets and I'm not hearing any problems with the sound quality when ping pong & sync are both on. Sorry!
-
Thanks Asch ... but my delay is still crackling. I donīt know why, so i turned off the PINGPONG of every sound i use.

It is the sync parameter which causes the crackling !
Asch, maybe you can test something:
1) go to preset 0012 - annoying arp
2) fx2 = delay
3) dry/wet balance is locked (black colored with no control)
4) sync = ON, link = OFF, pingpong = ON
5) play middle C on keyboard and listen: The sound is crackling
6) turn off sync (sync = OFF) and the sound does not crackle anymore
Is it ?
Thanks a lot my friend ;)

I followed these steps but am not getting any crackling. I am listening through headphones plugged directly into the Origin and have the volume turned up all the way. Are you listening through the headphone output or the master out? Are you listening directly to this output or do you have it plugged into a DAW or some kind of mixing board, etc.? What is the volume setting you are using (Origin Master Level or Headphones level)?
-
I have tested it all: headphones, master out, standalone, mixer, master volume at 50%, headphone volume at 75%, all kind of sounds ...
Everytime i turn on sync at the delay (sync = ON) the sound is crackling. Everytime i turn off sync (sync = OFF) the crackling stops.
Odd ???
Now iīm trying to downgrade to 1.3 then update to 1.4 again ...
Hermit: In preset 0012 - annoying arp: Is the dry/wet balance locked at your origin (black colored with no control) ?
Thanks

The reason for the delay crackling is within cubase (studio 5). The delay parameter sync = ON at origin in a MIDI-Track in cubase makes it crackling. If i turn delay sync off, the crackling stops immediately.
Outside cubase there is no crackling.
No solution with cubase. I have to turn the delay completely off.
>:(
Thanks Hermit for the tip.

Well, glad you have reached the cause of that!
