Title: Spark kits do not save in a Pro Tools session - FOA Kevin
Post by: stuey on April 07, 2016, 01:55:47 am
Hello Kevin, hope all is well.

We spoke about this a few times but I'm still getting issues with the Spark plug in from within pro tools.
If I have an instance of spark on an instrument channel for example, lets say I am playing around with kits and forget to save the spark layout.

In pro tools this should not matter as the plug state is always saved when i save the session, this happens on all other plug ins but not spark.
When i reopen my session i have a random kit in place of the one I last had .

I now know this to my cost and have to save an instance of everything in spark before I shut pro tools down. When I open the PT session up again the kit in spark is different to the kit it saved with. As i have saved the kit I wanted, all I do is click the left arrow at the top of the guy to load a new kit, then click the right arrow again to reopen my saved kit. This then open the correct kit.

Please please Kevin, this needs to be dealt with. I know you are busy on new things but this is a bug that I have reported to you on a couple of occasions and still there is no solution.

Thank you

Stuart

Hi Stuart,

I've been testing here on ProTools 12 on Mac 10.11 and i've been able to recall my project properly inside ProTools.
Could you please tell me what version of PT your using ? on Mac/PC ?

Best and sorry for the delay !

Hi Ben, how are you?

You've been busy I see :)

I'm on the latest version 10, Pro Tools 10.3.9 and Mac OSX Mountain Lion. Spark Plug in version 1.1.1. I suspect it's something 32/64 bit related if you can open it fine in PT12. Pro Tools 10 is still 32 bit although uses AAX isn't fully 64 bit. Pro Tools 11 up is fully 64 bit.

Can you please try with Pro Tools version 10

Thanks, Stuart

Hi Ben,

This problem goes back quite a while, Pro Tools 10 has worked in past versions of Spark 2, but with the 2 recent updates, I have seen this error on my system.

Thanks, Stuart

Hum, so in order to clarify a bit you tell me that version 2.2 build 76 of Spark doesn't work as expected on ProTools 10.
The state of the plugin is not recalled properly, that's it ? Or is it with v1.1.1 ?

Hello Ben,

That is correct yes

Thanks, Stuart

Ps. The v1.1.1 refers specifically to the aax spark plug in.
