When I try to send bank/program control changes to the software, such as MSB/LSB 01 01 (for bank1,pat1).. nothing happens. Does Spark software support bank/program change messages? Is there another way to do it? I would like to sequence the patterns from my host rather than the song sequencer or via midi clips. I've searched the knowledge base, checked the intergoogles, and youtubes, and can't find any information. It's def not in the manual. Switching banks/patterns via MIDI should be possible.. it is for pretty much every other groovebox in existence ever.

Yes, you can change bank/pattern via midi.
Have a look at this post:

Hope it helps...

That does look like it'll set me up how I want. I'll check it out when I get home today and report back later. Thanks alot for the response Moley! ;D

Glad to help!
Let us know how you get on....

Moley... when you ctrl-click (or command click) on the Bank/Pattern/Pat select buttons, you're given the midi learn popup? I get the learn/midi assignment popup if I ctrl-click on pretty much everything except the Bank/Pat/Step buttons.... It doesn't show up on the other pads when I ctrl-click. I'm using the latest update. Am I missing something here? I've tried with "send midi from pads" both on and off
edit: to be more specific, this is the vst im talking about.. but the behavior is exactly the same in standalone

Well this is just stupid. It's a problem with the SparkLE GUI. If I switch to Spark Creative GUI I can assign the MIDI there, then switch back to the Spark LE GUI after I'm done. I'm submitting a bug, I can't believe no one has pointed this out yet.. maybe it was ok in the previous updates..?

Ah yes, using Spark GUI not SparkLE GUI seems to be the only way to do this.
Does seem odd... doesn't it?
